Pio Gama Pinto was a journalist, freedom fighter and MP of Goan descent. Pinto backed land redistribution and was Kenya's first post-independence political assassination victim, in 1965. Born on 31 March 1927 in Nairobi. Died on 24 February 1965 in Nairobi (assassinated), aged 37.
